Register a pet microchip in the UK
UK pet owners use the same IPR registration as everyone else. Create a free account, enter an ISO 11784/11785 microchip number, and pay the one-time owner fee. The pricing page shows that fee as £19.
Steps
- 1
Create a free account
Create a free International Pet Registry account. The pricing card says the account is free and you pay only when registering a pet.
- 2
Enter the existing chip number
Choose Register a Pet and enter the microchip number from the implant paperwork or from a scan. Any ISO 11784/11785 compliant microchip can be registered.
- 3
Pay the one-time pound fee
The pricing page shows the owner registration as £19, one time, with no annual renewal. The same fee is $25 USD or CA$34 if you switch currency on that page.
Lookup and local registration
The free Microchip Search page checks IPR and also checks CheckAChip (UK) and PetAddress (Australia), along with partner registries. It does not send the search to AAHA's website. AAHA's own lookup is what queries IPR.
The pet owner guide says IPR is a supplementary international registry and does not replace a local registration. Keep the local registration as well.
